even after the very last light is gone

we're getting married!

here's how the boy described how it all went down in an email to a friend:

"I picked her up by surprise and took her to a plane, then we flew to Seattle, and drove and backpacked out to the furthest west spot in the contiguous US. Then as the sun was setting I told her that no matter what happens, no matter how dark it gets I will never leave her and put a ring on her finger and asked her to marry me. She said yes and we stayed up on the beach next to a fire watching the stars come out next to luminescent tide pools and the moon set.
I'm not kidding. That's all true. It was more magical than I ever could have expected."

more details to come.

i am freaking out excited.
"So am I."

I always thought he was crazy for stepping away from the relationship the first time.
I'm sure there was a purpose of growth for both of you.
It is obvious that his time away from you was just has heart wrenching as your time from him. You make a beautiful couple.
I'm so happy for you to begin your own eternal family. I know it is something you have patiently waited for.
    Congratulations!
Can't wait to see pictures of your special day.

What a romantic proposal story so fittng for someone "dripping with passion." I am so glad that your dreams for a romantic love and starting your own family are coming true!

  35. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so happy for you! I have been following your walk through the heartache and pain, with much sympathy from afar (Boston) having gone through the same thing myself. You are truly and amazing woman, who I choose to model myself and my actions after. Thanks for inspiring me to continue to believe in Heavenly Father's plan for each of us. I hope to one day have the gift of marriage. Congrats again, and thanks for being such a beacon of light, love, and hope!

  45. Charity, I am so happy for you!! My husband and I had a very rocky courtship and difficult break-up, but that break-up made all the difference when we finally realized that we were right for one another and married. 10 years later, 5 kids - one with brain cancer, awful postpartum depression, job changes, moves, difficult family issues, and much more, I am so grateful for all the hard work we put into our dating life and now our marriage because it's made for a rock-solid relationship. I hope it will be the same for you! Smiles!
