london is calling!

by the time anyone is reading this, the boy and i will be on the ground in the united kingdom, having officially moved to london!!! it has been a totally crazy whirlwind preparing for and leading up to this move across the pond, and i still cannot believe it is actually happening – it has actually happened! there have been times when we have been anxious, nervous, and mega stressed out about all the logistics and changes ahead, but there have been plenty of times equally or more intense when we feel to the brim excited about building a new life in this incredible city. while our nine months of marriage have been pretty dang full of adventure and learning and wonder and love, we both definitely feel that the best is yet to come – in london!

we are staying in temporary housing while we look for a place to live. we are hoping to find a flat very near to ian’s work in central london. we have a couple of weeks before his first day to figure out housing, as well as banking, phone plans, health insurance decisions, etc. of course, i am also in hot pursuit of employment opportunities as i make the next step in my career. we are both sooo looking forward to putting our clothes on hangers and in drawers, eating dinner at home together, going to work every day, and sleeping in the same bed for more than a few days at a time. we will savor routine and ordinary days – although we are anticipating that even the ordinary will be extraordinary as we seek to find joy in our new city home.

i still have so much around-the-world blogging to catch up on, but if you want a peek into our londontown (and europe-wide, soon!) adventures, you can follow us on instagram!

cheers to a new beginning and one of the world’s most fantastic cities!
