merry, merry, merry christmas! god bless us, every one!
the past few days the seams of my heart have felt like they just might pop. my soul has become totally saturated with christmas joy.
as i have offered very sincere prayers of gratitude for the baby jesus, i’ve felt thankfulness, peace, and heavenly love wash over me.
yesterday, as i took a run along a favourite london route and watched family members and friends enjoy beauty and festivity together, i smiled so broadly and let my legs rush with delight.
last night, as i sang glory to the newborn king unabashedly with five thousand other people and the magnificent organ in royal albert hall, i felt such a powerful rush of exultation and profound felicity.
as i’ve wrapped gifts and whipped cream and opened christmas cards and read dickens out loud and kissed my husband and walked the twinkling streets of london, i’ve been brim with that particular, wonderful, super sweet brand of joy that christmas brings.
there is so much good and beauty in the world, and so much good and beauty to come. all because of a little tiny baby, born in a humble way, sent to save us.
i hope everyone who reads these words has a glimmering, fantastic, joyous holiday with people they love.
merry, merry, merry christmas! and god bless us, every one.
