I first popped in on your blog from Shawni's just out of curiosity. I return every now and then because you are SO darn uplifting & eloquent and make me want to suck the marrow out of life just a little bit more. I love reading Shawni's blog because she's just ahead of me on the mothering path (I have 4 young girls) but I'm also drawn to your blog because it reminds me of the excitement of having hobbies & passions outside of kids. I am very passionate about mothering and living out this life now which is one I'd always dreamed about, but it's a breath of fresh air to know there's a big world out there (San Fran! Ireland!) and restaurants and giddy carefree moments. It's nice to walk in someone else's shoes for a second and then happily go back to my own life. By the way, I'm your neighbor to the north in Seattle. I'm also an East High alum (Talmadge's year).Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12484231863085751994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-74840533550402023162012-02-12T23:20:11.433+00:002012-02-12T23:20:11.433+00:00First of all...82 comments? We are at really similar stages in our lives (the Peter Pan in between) and you are so honest in your reflections. It makes me strive to do the same.
3. The photos! and colour! and descriptive language!
4. I know one of your sister in laws through a friend of a friend, which got me hooked on your blog.
5. You bounce back with resiliency on your way to each new adventure.
6. I think we would be friends in real life (is that creepy? i hope not! haha).
7. Once a YW, always a YW!

Truths:

8. Read East of Eden. The "thou mayest" still gets me.
9. I know true love exists. I just hope it exists for me.
10. I read your blog because I met you whe...Hi Charity!
I read your blog because I met you when you were about 10 years old at your Aunt and Uncle’s house in Fremont. (Chris and Hedy) I was there for a family event (was dating your cousin) and I clearly remember you running all over their basketball gym at top speed and visiting with your Super-Duper Mom. There is a special place in my heart for the Eyre clan from that era so it is fun to hear what new adventures you have all been living.

My favorite color is green because it is the color of life.

My thoughts on finding true love (which took me many years to find) are this: You have to approach finding a husband as you did looking for a job. How many contacts did you go through to find your job? The larger the pool of people the better chance you have of finding what personalities work for you and learning which are toxic. Use the net to meet good Mormon men who are actively looking to date and to weed out bad matches. (So much more efficient than hoping someone asks you out AND you also will meet men you would never have met otherwise. It is a HUGE time saver. You live in a time where dating is completely different than your parents or siblings. Don’t try and match their stories. Yours will be your own.) Go out on mini-dates often. If a man isn’t interested in developing a relationship with you don’t take it personally. It just means it wasn’t a good fit. Period. (It goes both ways. You want and deserve someone who is "Dripping With Passion" in Love with You. Not luke warm.) If it isn't a good fit let go and keep looking. You’ll know because the energy will flow and he will say what he means and then do what he says.(Also...men are the worst at mind reading. Be direct and speak up.)
Read books on how to be in a quality relationship and learn those skills. Relating truly takes skill. Love>>> is something that you do after your fall into it.
PS Welcome to our part of the Peninsula! Have you gone to the Stanford Movie Theater for old movies and organ music? (Silent Movies on Friday night) Super fun.Marchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04438749426495522038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-19740667538640552072012-02-10T09:24:10.433+00:002012-02-10T09:24:10.433+00:00i read your blog because you're a cool mormon ...i read your blog because you're a cool mormon person and i need more cool mormon people in my lifeBeebs.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00595275689472384184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-59616464765298766442012-02-10T07:24:21.394+00:002012-02-10T07:24:21.394+00:00My name is Mackenzie and I found your blog through...My name is Mackenzie and I found your blog through your sister's blog (71 toes). Since then I've been checking it as frequently as I write in my blog. I love your outlook on life. It's hard not to read your blog. As you can tell by all the other posts on here, you are not your average everyday ordinary girl. I love how vividly you describe all of your feelings during your adventures. It seems like every day to you is an adventure. It helps me keep my eye out for the blessings I may be passing by without noticing.
My passion in life is for life; but more specifically for adventure. I love travelling, but haven't done a lot yet. I love hiking, so far I've climbed a different mountain every week that I've lived here in Utah, and I am obsessed with sailing, that is my greatest passion in life. My blog was all about how I lived on my sail boat, but now it's just about some of the hikes and stuff. Favorite color: Green.. all shades.
Hope you have an awesome week!Sean Patrick Carrollhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13657200832444643817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-70636969893025584492012-02-05T18:07:33.065+00:002012-02-05T18:07:33.065+00:00I discovered you through your sister, Shawni's...I discovered you through your sister, Shawni's blog. I like your blog specifically because I've always found joy in the little things, too. Love your passion. :) And, randomly I know a couple people I've seen in your pictures. Such a small world! As she said we've grown up with the Eyre Family Thanksgiving cards on your fridge throughout the holidays. I remember going to your Salt Lake house many, many years ago when we first moved to Utah from Hawaii. We hung out with all of you over there. Your parents let us stay at your cabins in Parley's Canyon when we first moved to Utah and had no place to live. We even had the opportunity to host your family while we lived in Hawaii. Anyway, I love reading about your passion for life, your adventures. I have long admired your family, and felt a sense of appreciation for you all, even if I don't know you all that well. I love your outlook on life whether situations are a bit frustrating or completely joyous. I definitely learn a lot when I read your blog, and hope to gain that sense of passion for my life as you have for yours.
