We have a trip to London coming up and my 4 and 5 year old are SO excited...they keep telling everyone they're going to London to see Big Ben and that the people speak ENGLISH there haha. They're really tickled to go somewhere everyone speaks their language.Hollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08360421002676263184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-88737501062216933402019-01-18T11:29:53.676+00:002019-01-18T11:29:53.676+00:00Charity, I can assure you I remember the travels w...Charity, I can assure you I remember the travels with my parents. Of course pictures help and of course sometimes I don't remember what I saw or all the historical information my mom read from the guide in front of a church. but i remember the feeling of adventure, the surprise at looking at new things, the cosiness of the car in the long hours. So go on, take them everywhere, it 'll do them good.
p.s. I was inspired by your 10 thoughts, and I've been doing a Things I learned this week list on my blog, if you want to check it out!
:D Carlottahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11026902043042030817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-14220263883460409012019-01-17T18:39:34.923+00:002019-01-17T18:39:34.923+00:00Yes agree totally. We also read to them constantly when they were young. And I imagine staying positive even when exhausted/sleep deprived helps as well. I would also like any tips on websites you use, etc. on picking the best credit cards for points, etc. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-62251649894132658992019-01-17T15:18:01.685+00:002019-01-17T15:18:01.685+00:00I live in Oregon and there are dreary days here--w...I live in Oregon and there are dreary days here--where I know the colors grow richer as the days seem cloudier, b-u-u-ut sometimes I need a lift and I come to your sunny blog and see your photos of beautiful places and I envision myself there. We moved to Avignon, France, when our oldest was 14 months old. Her learning French for our two years there where her mind was absorbing so much language and culture was invaluable. She is now a professor in North African literature at Yale speaking, writing, and teaching in French. Just saying. Read to your kids. Travel with your kids.MEPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03223961212295315826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-29215266209410981092019-01-16T19:42:42.684+00:002019-01-16T19:42:42.684+00:00I love to travel with my kids too, and honestly it...I love to travel with my kids too, and honestly it's not for them, although I'm sure they benefit, ultimately I do it for me. Watching them learnis so amazing and now that my oldest is 12 I realize that I don't have time of time with them and I want to soak it up. It seems like you guys don't typically stay in corporate chain hotels (I could be wrong here), so I'm wondering how you acquire points to redeem. Do you do travel hacking, where you sign up for new credit cards to get points bonuses?Melaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03338949204492816733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168799841998271534.post-57406170442983295222019-01-16T15:18:01.109+00:002019-01-16T15:18:01.109+00:00Great post but I wanted to comment on one thing: I...Great post but I wanted to comment on one thing: I also feel like travel with kids is so enriching. They may not remember the trip but you have pictures and are there to see the joy on their faces as they experience new things and new places. Our (adult) kids have always loved traveling since they were little and have both lived in Europe for a time. My youngest is currently considering grad school in the UK.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08329770945411479174noreply@blogger.com
