autumn, at last

 

how i’ve pined for the colors of autumn! we get some slanty fall light here in the bay area, but not much foliage. my heart yearns for those hues.

after the big surprise, a costco run and some prep for the baptism refreshments, we headed to the cemetery near the shumways’ house to enjoy the beginnings of new england autumn. charlie and emmeline and i made an epic leaf pile, then jumped in all together. i was brilliantly happy then, giggling and delighting.

  

after church on sunday morning we went back to the cemetery for a walk. it was so gorgeous – these iphone pictures just don’t do it justice. we gathered a large collection of spectacular leaves.

  

fall is officially my favourite.
