that snowy, snowy christmas eve gave way to the most spectacularly blue and sparkly christmas morning. it was full to the brim with wrapping paper, pajamas, sweets, squeals of delight and gasps of surprise, warmth and merriment and just that particular brand of cozy christmas joy.

in addition to all the exciting and cuddly, velvety giftgiving, we had the traditional eggs benedict brunch, went to the theater in our pjs to see les miserables in two shifts, played in the snow, ate a delicious christmas dinner complete with christmas crackers and crowns, and had firelit discussions about the justice of javert, the mercy of valjean and the incomparable gift of the christ child.

a very, very happy day.
