the final countdown

this is so surreal!

the boy and i arrived in salt lake city on friday night and enjoyed spending general conference weekend with family and in the middle of it all! i am feeling tremendously blessed for my faith and for the boy's faith.

we are both working remotely the next couple of days and finishing some last things and then, holy cow, we are getting married. i somehow thought that this countdown app i put on my phone would never get us this close! i am amazed that even through all the craziness of wedding planning on top of really busy lives, i love the boy more and more every single day. i can't believe that i get to be his wife.

i won't be blogging for the next week or so, but am looking forward to sharing the joy of our celebrations here soon. true love is the best and i am so thankful that i've found it and for all the miracles that have brought me here.

  8. so happy for you! your joy is infectious. as someone who found love after years of struggles, i know what appreciation, work, and trust goes into a relationship after that exhilarating, sometimes exhausting, but fulfilling ride. there is no taking it for granted. you are the best example of that - embracing it and living your whole life with passion. so glad you are so happy and in love, and SO glad you are taking the time to soak it all up! best wishes!

  19. Glad Shawni was able to make it. Glad she got to come home for an event that meant a lot to her.

Now, is she going to let Elle and Max come home for Homecoming and Prom - Oh, no, not "necessary - "we do hard things" - we miss milestones so Mom can live in China and fulfill her dream.

Hypocritical to the Nth degree, Eyres, you should ALL be ASHAMED>

    1. Sometimes when we're unhappy with our own lives, it's difficult to see other people's happiness. I send my love and prayers to you, anonymous. And I hope that you can find some peace and happiness in your own heart. You're worth it, as we all are. God Bless

  20. I'm guessing it meant a lot to charity to see her sister on her wedding day.

  21. How is it Charity's fault whether Shawni's kids are in China or not?

  22. Oh my goodness, some of your newer commenters are just psychopaths (and people who sound like they have never lived or traveled abroad).

Charity, congratulations on your wedding day! I can't wait to see photos and a writeup. And what brilliant news that all your sisters made it.

  23. How does anonymous know shawni was at the wedding. Is she stalking this poor family. So very sad. But I'm sure your wedding day was lovely. Enjoy your happiness. :)

  24. To-AnonymousOctober 10, 2014 at 9:31 PM- behavior like yours is highly inappropriate. It's clear you know that since you post under Anonymous.

    Congratulations Mr and Mrs Wright.

  25. I told you the crazies from Shawni's blog migrated over here. My heavens people, let's just let a wonderful family be happy and not stick our noses in their business! Hope your wedding and weekend was absolutely everything you hoped it would be!

  26. I thought a lot about you on your wedding day (which happened to be my husband's and my 5th year anniversary). I hope your wedding day and the following days of open houses (is this an American thing? Never heard of it in Europe... but it sounds like fun. Great opportunity to wear your wedding dress more than once) were as special and heartwarming as you hoped and deserved.

I wish you all the best!

And I have to admit that I'm a little bit jealous. Getting to know your spouse better and better by finally living together is such a great time! Enjoy it, this very special time won't come back.
I have the sweetest memories of our first months together and sometimes I regret that every day life comes in the way all too soon.

  27. I agree with Dorine and with everyone who is congratulating!
I hope it was everything both of you imagined!

Lotta, I would have like it as well, but I would have been horribly stressed that I would spill something on my dress the very first day!
