sonnet james: the perfect travel, pregnancy and play dress!

untitled folder

when the boy and i were preparing for our around the world trip, i was on the hunt for a super comfy, lightweight, zero maintenance, cute dress to pack in my backpack. i had heard about sonnet james dresses, which were created (by a super awesome woman in our church congregation in palo alto!) to be “play dresses for playful moms.” i figured that a sonnet james dress might make the perfect travel dress and ordered one a couple of weeks before we headed out on our first flight across the wide ocean.

turns out, i was totally right! i wore the dress at least every five days on our travels (through so many different locations and climates), and it was just sooooo versatile, durable, comfortable, flattering, and easy. indeed, the perfect travel dress.

when i got pregnant, i decided it was time to add another sonnet james dress to my wardrobe, because i had noted that the dresses were - in addition to being fantastic for playing with kids - suitable for pregnancy and (many of them!) breastfeeding. i got the stella dress and have loved wearing it with my growing bump. it is hands-down the most comfortable piece of clothing i have put on my pregnant body.

when my sister shawni and her family arrived in london last thursday afternoon, i took all of them on an epic walking tour around some of london’s most iconic sites to give them a lay of the land. i loved that each of my nieces requested a one-on-one picture with me and big ben. so here’s four photos of me and baby boy in my new sonnet james dress with the four most darling girls in the world!: untitled folder-001
and this photo shows off that sonnet james dresses are truly play dresses. comfy and stretchy enough and fitted just right for doing stuff like this!:

sonnet james just launched a new line of dresses and there are so many super cute ones to choose from! i’m so glad that in these dresses i will be able to move freely, be comfortable, nurse and play with baby boy without sacrificing the wearing of something attractive :) sonnet james is a really fun company – they are all about adventure and relishing life and motherhood, and they host awesome giveaways based on lip syncs and mom dance moves – check them out on instagram.

  1. Yippee! Thanks for the tip. I love wearing dresses almost every day. They're so much easier and more feminine. Just checked out their website - 100% my style. I will have a hard time choosing my FIRST one. Wondering how they wash? Do you air dry yours?

    2. That's what I thought too... I tried one of the shortest lengths and still looked ridiculous in it, lol! Bummer.
