christmas cards and gifts with shutterfly!

if you’ve read this blog for a little while, you’re well aware that i love, love, love shutterfly. i have tried lots of different online photo printing services, and i have found that truly no other company provides a better experience or product than shutterfly. the level of customization is so awesome (you really can create anything to look exactly how you’d like!), the designs are beautiful and varied, and customer service is top-notch.


^^ ^^ the front and back of this year’s christmas card! i like to design both sides on my own and then upload my designs to shutterfly (although they have tons of beautiful designs on the website as well). i especially have fun with the collage of pictures from the year on the back. ian keeps telling me i need to pick less photos so they are bigger, but it’s so hard to narrow them down! ^^ ^^

this year we not only made and sent our christmas cards using shutterfly, but also created a few really special christmas gifts using shutterfly. we made a calendar for ian’s parents (we do this every year and everyone loves it!) and i made a photo book for ian. i plan to create an entire library of photo books for our family, and i am sincerely grateful for the way that shutterfly makes that possible and easy! photo gifts are definitely the best kind of gifts in my opinion - so personal and so special - truly treasures!




some of my favourite things about shutterfly:
-you can easily upload a csv file of addresses and shutterfly will stuff, address and stamp your christmas cards for you! (this is particularly useful for us as we live across the ocean from the majority of people we send cards to.)
-the layouts for photo books are awesome - i especially like the ones that span both pages of an open book. and every single page is totally customizable, so you can change the sizes of photos and placement of text just exactly how you want it.
-the calendar designs are wonderful. i prefer a really clean, simple look and there are plenty of options for that. i know that my mother-in-law appreciates more colour and cutesy designs, and there’s plenty of options for that as well - so i spruce up the calendar i make each year for her and my father-in-law accordingly.
-the preview function is accurate! you can see exactly what your product will look like before you order it.
-when making a photo book, there’s all kinds of lines that pop up on the page to help you to see if your photos and text are aligned/centered. this is really helpful! the layout of the website when you are working on a project is so easy to use - i’ve been really frustrated by the setup with other online printing services.
-they consistently have really great sales. i got my photo book for half off!

so when you’re in need of a truly special gifts and/or a lovely way to capture and look back on memories, use shutterfly!
